Choose Your Custom Beanie Style and Fit

The silhouette determines how a custom beanie looks, fits and displays your branding.

Start with a classic cuffed beanie, a short fisherman shape or a relaxed slouch fit. Then define the finished height, cuff depth, opening width and stretch level required for your customer.

Available Beanie Styles

Cuffed Beanie

A classic knit beanie with a fold-over cuff. The cuff provides a stable area for embroidery, woven labels and patches.

Double-Cuff Beanie

A deeper folded construction with extra layers around the ears. It creates a substantial appearance for winter and outdoor collections.

Fisherman Beanie

A short, close-fitting silhouette designed to sit above or around the ears. Common in workwear, streetwear and lifestyle collections.

Slouch Beanie

Fit and Measurement Options

Finished height: Measure from the top of the beanie to the lower opening while the product is laid flat and unstretched.
Opening width: Measure straight across the lower opening without stretching the knit.
Cuff height: Measure from the lower folded edge to the top edge of the cuff.
Crown shape: Choose a rounded crown, shaped decrease, gathered top or pom-pom finish.
Fit level: Close, regular or relaxed.
Size range: Adult, youth, kids or custom measurements.
Layer construction: Single layer, double layer or partially lined.

Fit Development Tip

A reference sample gives the factory the clearest fit standard.

Send the sample together with the finished height, opening width and cuff height. State whether measurements are taken in a relaxed or stretched condition. This prevents a “regular fit” from being interpreted differently by the buyer and factory.

Choose from available yarn colors or develop a custom-dyed shade. Stripes, marl yarns, contrast cuffs and knitted jacquard patterns can also be used to build a recognizable brand design.

Custom-dyed yarn availability and minimum quantity depend on the selected fibre, yarn construction and color.

Pantone references provide a starting point. Final color approval should be based on a physical yarn swatch because textured fibres can appear different from a printed color standard.

Choose the Beanie Knit Structure and Construction

Knit structure determines the surface texture, stretch, warmth and shape of a custom beanie.

The same yarn can produce very different results when used in a fine rib, chunky cable or jacquard construction. Review yarn count, ply and knit gauge together rather than selecting them separately.

1×1 Rib Knit

A fine vertical rib with balanced stretch and a clean appearance.

Suitable for close-fitting beanies, fine-gauge Merino styles and smaller embroidered logos.

The logo is stitched directly onto the cuff or beanie body.

This method suits clear wordmarks and compact designs. Stitch density, backing and logo size should be adjusted to prevent the knitted fabric from puckering or losing stretch.

Knit-In Jacquard Logo

The logo becomes part of the knitted construction.

Jacquard works well for bold lettering, repeating logos and all-over patterns. Small details may need to be simplified according to the knit gauge.

Woven or Embroidered Patch

A separately produced patch is sewn onto the cuff or body.
