Embroidery Design Tips
- Text should be no smaller than 0.2" tall with a minimum stroke width of 0.08"
- Front panel: max 3 lines of text, 20 characters per line for best clarity
- Side/back: max 2 lines, 10 characters per line due to limited space
- Fine lines, gradients, and shading are difficult to reproduce — use solid fills
- Large solid backgrounds may cause fabric distortion; our team will advise if adjustment is needed
Patches on this style
Patches offer a premium, tactile branding element. We produce woven, PVC, leather, and chenille patches in-house and apply them during production for a clean, factory-finished result.

Build Your Custom Beanie from Yarn to Finish
Choose the beanie shape, yarn, knit structure, colors, branding, and packaging that fit your collection. Send us a reference image, sketch, or tech pack, and our team will review the construction before sampling.
Choose Your Custom Beanie Style and Fit
The silhouette determines how a custom beanie looks, fits and displays your branding.
Start with a classic cuffed beanie, a short fisherman shape or a relaxed slouch fit. Then define the finished height, cuff depth, opening width and stretch level required for your customer.
Fit Development Tip
A reference sample gives the factory the clearest fit standard.
Send the sample together with the finished height, opening width and cuff height. State whether measurements are taken in a relaxed or stretched condition. This prevents a “regular fit” from being interpreted differently by the buyer and factory.
Materials & Fabrics
Choose from our in-stock fabric library or source your own. We work with cotton, polyester, nylon, wool blends, and specialty textiles — woven, knit, and non-woven.
Fabric Notes
- All fabrics pass OEKO-TEX or equivalent safety testing before production
- Custom fabric orders may extend lead time by 5–10 days for sourcing and testing
- We provide free physical swatches on request before committing
Develop Custom Yarn Colors and Knitted Patterns
Color in a knitted beanie is influenced by the fibre, yarn texture, knit structure and lighting.
Choose from available yarn colors or develop a custom-dyed shade. Stripes, marl yarns, contrast cuffs and knitted jacquard patterns can also be used to build a recognizable brand design.
Color Capabilities Content
- Stock yarn colors: Select from available yarn shades for a more straightforward development process.
- Custom-dyed yarn: Develop a color using a Pantone reference and an approved physical yarn swatch.
- Marl and heather yarn: Combine fibre colors to create a mixed or textured appearance.
- Contrast construction: Use different colors for the body, cuff, crown, pom-pom or interior layer.
- Knitted stripes: Add horizontal, vertical or engineered stripe patterns.
- Jacquard knitting: Knit logos, lettering or repeating artwork directly into the beanie.
- Tone-on-tone branding: Combine a body color with a slightly lighter or darker logo.
- Multicolor artwork: Use multiple yarn colors within the limits of the selected knit construction.
Custom-dyed yarn availability and minimum quantity depend on the selected fibre, yarn construction and color.
Pantone references provide a starting point. Final color approval should be based on a physical yarn swatch because textured fibres can appear different from a printed color standard.
Choose the Beanie Knit Structure and Construction
Knit structure determines the surface texture, stretch, warmth and shape of a custom beanie.
The same yarn can produce very different results when used in a fine rib, chunky cable or jacquard construction. Review yarn count, ply and knit gauge together rather than selecting them separately.
Construction Details to Confirm
- Yarn count and number of plies
- Knit gauge
- Single-layer or double-layer construction
- Finished height and opening width
- Crown shaping and decrease method
- Linked, knitted or sewn crown seam
- Cuff depth and fold construction
- Stretch and recovery requirement
- Finished product weight
- Lining attachment method
Add Custom Logos and Decoration to Your Beanie
A logo method must work with the selected yarn, knit structure and placement.
Direct embroidery, knitted jacquard and patches create different levels of detail, texture and stretch. Test the decoration on the actual beanie construction before approving bulk production.

Additional Branding Options
- Woven cuff label: A small folded or flat label sewn into the cuff edge.
- Leather patch: Genuine or alternative leather with debossed, embossed or printed branding.
- PU patch: A consistent synthetic patch suitable for molded or debossed details.
- Silicone patch: A flexible raised logo with a clean technical appearance.
- Chenille patch: A textured patch commonly used for letters and collegiate-inspired graphics.
- Metal badge: A small metal branding element attached with an appropriate backing.
- Reflective label: A visible branding detail for selected outdoor and performance products.
- Interior print: A printed logo, size mark or care message placed inside a compatible lining.
- Pom-pom color branding: Use custom color combinations to connect the pom-pom with the brand palette.
Decoration Application Notes
- Dense embroidery can restrict the stretch of knitted fabric.
- Large logos may distort lightweight or open knit structures.
- Use suitable backing to control puckering and edge definition.
- Keep patches within the usable height of the cuff.
- Simplify jacquard artwork according to the knit gauge.
- Check that metal badges do not create uncomfortable interior contact points.
- Approve the logo size, color, position and attachment method on a physical sample.
Add Linings and Functional Features
Functional options can change the warmth, weight, stretch and interior comfort of a custom beanie.
Select these features according to the intended season and use. The yarn, knit construction and lining should be reviewed as one complete product specification.
Fleece Lining
A soft interior layer that adds warmth and gives the beanie a fuller construction.
Specify whether the lining covers the complete interior or only the ear area.
Satin Lining
A smooth interior lining often selected for hair-conscious, fashion and lifestyle collections.
The lining pattern must allow enough room for the outer knit to stretch without pulling.
Thermal Lining
A knitted or brushed interior layer developed for colder conditions.
The lining weight and attachment method affect the finished size and bulk of the beanie.
Wind-Resistant Inner Layer
An additional internal layer can help reduce airflow through open knitted structures.
Material compatibility and breathability should be reviewed during product development.
Reflective Details
Reflective yarn, piping, labels or patches can be added for selected outdoor and visibility-focused designs.
Confirm the position and appearance under both daylight and low-light conditions.
Removable Pom-Pom
A detachable pom-pom allows the customer to change the appearance or simplify product care.
The attachment should be secure while remaining accessible from the interior.
Functional performance depends on the complete combination of yarn, knit structure, lining and finishing method.
Define the intended use and required test method before selecting a performance feature. Availability should be confirmed during specification review.
